Whit’s of Land O’Lakes is family-owned and operated by Florida natives Craig and Melissa Walker, who have considered a range of business opportunities over the past decade. When they experienced Whit’s of Stuart, they recognized something special about this small franchise that had originated in Ohio. The Walkers were delighted to bring this frozen custard to our area. Craig folded up his medical scrubs after a twenty year successful career to be a business owner and work alongside his family instead of the frantic corporate schedule. Melissa’s background as an educator has given her a passion to connect with others in the community.

Whether you create your own flavor with a sundae, milkshake, float, the famous Whitties, or enjoy a scoop of vanilla, chocolate, or the featured flavor of the day, the made-fresh daily treat is a smile in a cup. Visitors can enjoy Whit’s custard knowing that this higher-end ice cream is Non-GMO, Hormone Free, and Gluten Free. The vegan/dairy free options made with coconut milk or oat milk broaden the menu so that everyone can enjoy the Whit’s atmosphere and make memories while enjoying this tasty sweet treat. A coffee menu can be enjoyed, including the option of an “affogato" (scoop of custard with a shot of espresso, sundae or Whitser style) made with Ragged Coffee, a local roaster.

Craig and Melissa’s vision is for Whit’s of Land O’Lakes to be a place in the community where people can drive their golf cart, ride their bike, or stop in while driving in the area, as well as a destination location where people from the surrounding communities enjoy visiting and making sweet memories.

Miles and Sara searched out ice cream places when they were having dinner one night with Sara’s dad.  In searching, they found Whit’s Frozen Custard and were so excited because this was Miles’ father’s name!  They were instantly drawn to it, and knew they had to give it a try!  They fell in love with Whit’s at first bite!!  They immediately went on Whit’s website and discovered that it all began in Ohio where Miles was born, and they still have family that live there.  They were hooked and chose to open up their own Whit’s store.  

We are located on Federal Highway just south of Spanish River Blvd minutes from the beaches, Mizner and FAU in east Boca Raton. We make our custard FRESH every day and offer vanilla, chocolate and rotating Whit's flavor of the day. With over 30 toppings the flavor combinations are endless! We also serve Whittie cookie sandwiches, custard cakes, and a variety of pints and quarts in our Grab n' Go section. It was love at first bite for us and we can't wait to share it with you. "The Scoop"

Whit's Custard is made with cage-free certified eggs, milk, and cream that is sourced from pesticide-free grass-fed cows who are free from antibiotic and hormone treatment. Small fresh batches of frozen custard are churned right here at the shop! We make the featured Daily Flavor(s) in addition to fresh churned Vanilla and Chocolate throughout the day. Whit's Custard is served hand-dipped in a cup, a waffle cone/bowl, topped sundae style, or handspun for a shake! Quality topping choices are available to create a Whitser that allows our customers to create their own ‘mix-in’ flavor combination. We make traditional affogato, hot espresso shots, classic malts, floats, banana splits, whitties (frozen custard cookie sandwiches), novelty items like chocolate-dipped bananas, and the DeLand Dipper! 

We offer on-the-go items that are made here at the shop in our Grab N’Go; quarts, pints & custard cakes! We make custom cakes for any occasion on 48-72 hours' pre-order.

Dietary-restricted family members can enjoy a scoop too! We proudly make and serve a variety of  Gluten-Free, Vegan, Dairy-Free, & No Sugar Added options. 

We take extra precaution for those with nut allergies and have designated a “nut-free” whitser machine. However, we recommend sundae-style toppings, rather than the mix-in option, for those who have a severe nut allergy. 

"The Scoop on Whit's DeLand"

In January 2021, Whit's Frozen Custard opened in downtown DeLand within walking distance of Stetson University. Our sons, Dominic and Dante, were the first employees to be hired at Whit’s Frozen Custard of DeLand. As the owners lived out of state, I found myself stopping by the shop quite a bit, and with the investment of time given, the owners asked me to step into the role of store manager in the spring of 2021. Whit's had already become an extension of our home and a gathering place for our community friends. In 2022, the opportunity came to purchase Whit's DeLand and I took a leap of faith to purchase the business! I truly believe that Whit’s Frozen Custard of DeLand has THE BEST CUSTARD and that it has a greater purpose than profit. This business is an opportunity to enrich lives by providing jobs for students and young adults, and a friendly gathering place for DeLand residents and visitors alike! Our goal is to partner with schools, and other non-profit organizations by giving back through fundraising and serving others right in our hometown. We look forward to growing with the community for generations to come. Stop by, say hello, and grab a sample or just dive into a scoop or two! We are open 7 days a week.

Whit’s Frozen Custard of Stuart is proud to bring the wonderful tradition of hand crafted, made fresh daily, Frozen Custard to Martin County and the Treasure Coast. Our newly constructed location boasts a welcoming décor and relaxing outside patio with seating for 30-50 people around the courtyard. Open year round, we plan to serve our wonderful treats 7 days a week, with only an occasional closing for Holidays. Come see us, just west of Kanner Hwy on the north side of Monterey… before you head over the Palm City bridge. Our hope is that Whit’s becomes a destination for family and friends to congregate, and make lasting, meaningful memories they remember for years to come. Now serving Vegan Frozen Desserts made with cultured coconut milk! At Stuart we have various flavors of vegan available by the pint and occasionally by the scoop.
